The best season for peels and pigmentation treatments in Cyprus
A simple guide by Dr Adriana M. Ozery, Doctor Picasso, Limassol
In Cyprus we enjoy sunshine for most of the year, and that sunshine is also the main cause of dark spots, uneven tone and sun damage. Timing your treatments well makes a big difference to your results.
Why autumn and winter are best
From around October to March, the sun is weaker and days are shorter. Treated skin is more sensitive to UV light for a while, so this is the safest time for treatments that target pigmentation, with less risk of dark spots coming back.
Treatments to plan for the cooler months
Chemical peels such as MCA 35, Brightening & Hyperpigmentation Microneedling, and Luminescens depigmenting mesotherapy all work best as a course. Starting in autumn means you can complete the course before spring.
Can I have treatments in summer?
Yes, but carefully. Some gentle treatments, such as BioRePeel and skin boosters, can be done all year with strict sun protection. Stronger pigmentation treatments are usually better left for the cooler months.
SPF: the most important step
Whatever the season, use SPF 50 every day, reapply when you are outdoors, and wear a hat in strong sun. Without daily sun protection, pigmentation usually comes back.
